Another month of active developments has come to end, here are the developments that happened on our blockchain in July 2024 👇
▶️ Considering the positive feedback from our development progress, we are optimistic of launching the Open Beta version of DMDv4 possibly by August. Few weeks ago, we worked on the closed alpha3 version, merged all code upgrades we made since the open alpha2 version and prepared other ecosystem components like explorer API node etc.
▶️ Prior to DMDv4 release, one major development we are doing is the final integration of the bonus point system – which will weigh your chances to be part of the next validator set based on the trust and stability your validator earned over time his “score”. You earn more score by being an available candidate each day and you lose score when you’re not available as a candidate each day. You can also lose score by misbehaving or when you don’t contribute in key generation rounds or validator consensus communication.
The minimum score will be 1 and maximum score will be 1000. In a month where your node is available always and never misbehaving, you can get a raise from 1 to 1000. Losing points from 1000 to 1 is faster. When you misbehave, you lose 100 points each time you does that. Other validators decide misbehavior by 2/3 majority decisions. So, if one node is not communicating properly with others, he will be flagged to be misbehaving and would in turn lose 100 score and get no validator rewards for that particular epoch.
▶️ We are glad to share that the new Diamond-ui would be ready for Open Beta start, including the DAO frontend. The Diamond-UI is not only functionally built, but also looks much better and is prepared to be filled with a lot of additional content in the future. It would serve as the single point of contact for DMD diamond ecosystem participants – where you can not only set up your validators or delegate stake, but also have an overview of what happens in the ecosystem, including what projects and activities are active or upcoming in the ecosystem.
▶️ With DAO coming with DMDv4, all funding requests for projects, developments, etc., would go through the DMD diamond blockchain DAO proposal route. Here’s a sneak peak into the proposal state transition diagram within DMD diamond blockchain DAO 👇
Moreover, for someone who wants to request funding for a project upfront, you have to invest 20 DMD diamond coins as DAO proposal fee – which you get back only if your proposal is accepted by the DAO.
▶️ It’s a pleasure to see enthusiasts’ opinions about the DMD diamond blockchain and the use-cases on top of it. Indeed, the hidden gem is getting the needed awareness pre-DMDv4 beta and mainnet launches.

▶️ We are in the process of selecting the code audit company. Audit starts with the Open Beta release of DMDv4. We will use companies with CoinMarketcap visible audit badges. Audit start is scheduled by early september (open beta launch end of august).
While Certik is one of the possible code audit companies we are partnering with, we plead for your support as a community member to rate and vote our blockchain prior to code audit via – https://skynet.certik.com/projects/diamond#vote, as a high user voting number could decrease the audit cost if we finally select them. Other two audit companies in consideration include – Hacken and Softstack.

▶️ We are excited to let you know that we will be presenting at the Barcelona Blockchain Conference come 25th to 26th September, 2024. ▶️ With community approval, we are in the process of completing the setup of a new Discord for DMD diamond blockchain’s community members, to ensure full ownership, security and proper coordination prior to DMDv4 release. Moreover, it would be a core communication channel for our developer teams and also part of a bigger marketing scope of activities toward DMDv4 release. All thanks to our community members who have helped in building our old discord in the past, and you’re also welcome to help in improving the functionality of the new discord!
